The annual Orange County Special Angels Rodeo is our primary function each year. We host special needs individuals of all ages and from all walks of life. Our primary geographical focus is Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana, but anyone is welcome to attend. The rodeo is held the 2nd Saturday of November each year. Our goal is to provide a one-of-a-kind experience that allows our participants to be a cowboy or cowgirl for a day. Our Special Angels are the stars of the show on rodeo day and all of our events and activities are designed and planned around them. Each of our activities can be adapted to meet the needs of all participants.
Our rodeo is overseen by a team of highly qualified individuals from many different walks of life. Physical therapists, nurses, and emergency medical personnel are always on site during the event. Law enforcement officers, including uniformed personnel and plain clothes officers, help ensure that everyone is safe throughout the day.
Several area organizations, including area Go Texan committees, spend the day around a village of barbeque pits cooking and serving great food. There area also several other selections, donated by various area restaurants, that are not cooked on the pits.
Carnival games, service vendors, bounce houses, mechanical bull, petting zoo, and other activities round out the day. http://www.specialangelsrodeo.org/rodeo/
